January 14th, 2009Multi-level marketing or MLM is also known as network marketing. With network marketing, there is a parent company who sells its products directly to their customers. They can also get referrals to help them in selling their merchandise.
There are salespeople, independent and unsalaried, who represent the parent company. Sometimes they are called distributors, delaers, franchise owners, or sales consultants. How do they earn the money? They are compensated through commissions which is based on the amount or volume of merchandise sold. These distributors or franchise oweners may be full time representatives of the parent company, or sometimes they have a day job of their own.
Distributors or dealers develop their organizations or their businesses by building an active customer base who buy directly from the parent company. Independent distributors may also recruit downline independent distributors whose responsibility is to expand the organization further and build a bigger customer base.
Why is this networking method effective?
If you are a distributor and you have a downline of distributors under your wing, then you get to earn commissions based on the sales efforts of your downline. Dealers are paid with the commission based on the parent company’s compensation and commission plan. So, if a salesperson was able to make a sale, aside from getting compensation from this sale, other people may also benefit from it. The dealer who supervises the team of that salesperson, can be compensated. If he is a downline, then the dealer of the downline will also benefit from the sale.
A distributor earns a lot from their downline. It is important for you, the distributor, to fire up and later on explode your downline.
How do you explode your downline?
Follow the Golden Rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated. If you look at your downline and just see money signs flashing, then you would not be able to explode you downline anytime soon.
Your downline will end up losing motivation and wishing that somebody else is their sponsor. Multi-level marketing is about creating solid downline with the right relationships. Once your downline lost their motivation, they may end up looking for other sponsors and business opportunities.
Highly successful multi-level distributors are not just businessmen, they are skilled coaches and mentors. Cultivating and nurturing a downline is important. How to accomplish that? By instilling the right winning attitude and experience with treating people with respect. Make your downline come to your when they have questions. Another way to explode your downline is by understanding the company’s multilevel compensation plan. Making sure your downline understands the company plan, even its weak points, will make your downline respect you more because of honesty.
Share. That is another important means to explode your downline. Share your success and failures with them, so they can learn from you. Share your methods, so they may know them and figure out what works for them. Your success is not keeping secrets, it is about sharing your knowledge with your downline.

Are You Building Relationships With Your Customers…
December 21st, 2008Today I was watching a program about a lobster fishing group out of Maine. This group of 7 fisherman were very successful and were commenting how they weren’t feeling any type of “recession” whatsoever.
Was their type of work “recession” free?
Was it their product?
Was it the amount of endless lobsters they caught?
The answer to all those questions is NO.
You see these guy went the extra mile with their customers. When the product gets delivered to the customers not only do they get their lobsters but also some clams, mussels, steamers things they did not order nor expect.
Above that, they also received a small booklet in their package letting them know exactly where their lobster was caught and by which fisherman. Inside the booklet was a picture of the fisherman along with a bio on that specific fisherman.
The group also has a blog where the customer can send emails and see additional pictures of their fisherman of choice.
Are you still asking yourself, what is it that makes them successful? The answer is they build a relationship with their customers. They are there for their customers every step of the way.
This is what you must do with your business. You must build a relationship with your customers, colleagues, prospects etc. Send them emails that will add value to their lives and business. Answer their questions, be assessable to them in their times of need.
The minute you start adding value to your prospects lives by building a relationship with them and letting them know that you are a real person who cares about them and their success with their business is the minute you will see a shift in your business.
Your business will go from a place of scarcity to a place of abundance. Prospects will begin to ask you what business you belong to
and will start becoming partners in your business.
So you see , it is very important to build a relationship with your list as the fisherman do with their customers.
Make sure you do something everyday to either add value or assist your prospect everyday and your business will be handsomely rewarded.

It’s Safe To Come In, I’m Here To Tell You A Story

You read that right, I am here to tell you a story. I am not trying to sell you with my business, chances are you already have a business of your own. I am here to tell you a story. You see an mlm student of mine (will remain nameless to protect the innocent) asked me about what do I do to get my team members to duplicate what I have done, this is the answer I gave him.
To be honest with you, the majority of the people that enter an mlm company will fail. That is a fact. There are many reasons for this, but two big ones in my book are one duplication, and two the person runs out of money before they really begin to make moneyu and hence end belly up.
Duplication can be very difficult, what works for someone might not work for someone else. I could tell you do this and this is what worked for me, but those things might not work for you.
The solution is to take the person out of the equation, this is done with a system. When you have a system in place that does that the majority of the teaching, recruiting and which automates the process the chances of duplication increase drastically. Why, because you have remove the only variable which you have no control over, and that is the “new” inexperinced team member.
Furthermore, the system puts money into the new team member’s pocket even if no one joins his business! This help them stick around long enough until they start making enough money to quit their 9 to 5.
The person in this story ended up joining my team and is now a happy user of the system.
